A Prayer for More Joy in My Life

Lord, fill my heart with joy, and remind me that my strength comes from you. When I look around at the beauty of your creation, and when I remember the salvation that you have graciously given to me, my heart sings for joy. You are good, and your love endures forever.

meditate on his word as you set you mind on his love it will fill your heart with joy and thanksgiving

Your body matters

Good health is something we take for granted—until we start to lose it. When our health takes a downturn, we quickly begin to question our habits and diet. God has designed the human body so that it is a finely tuned instrument that is the most resilient on earth. It can endure fractures and adhesions, constant pain, and great stretches of tedium. Take care of the vessel God has given you. Add these to your diet or try something new….

Breakfast

Fresh fruit and feta salad

Fruits. This pairing may be the most surprising but adding Feta to sweet fruits like melons and stone fruits like apricots and nectarines adds a saltiness to complement the sweet flavors. Try it this summer, crumbled on top of sliced watermelon. Probiotics are live, friendly bacteria that can benefit your health. Feta has been shown to contain Lactobacillus plantarum, which accounts for about 48% of its bacteria

Drink

Golden milk

Consuming turmeric regularly can help reduce inflammation in the body and significantly reduce symptoms of already-present inflammatory conditions. Curcumin has also been linked to improved brain health and memory.

Lunch

Beet and pear salad with pomegranates and walnuts

Beets are rich in folate (vitamin B9) which helps cells grow and function. Folate plays a key role in controlling damage to blood vessels, which can reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. Beets are naturally high in nitrates, which are turned into nitric oxide in the body. Studies have suggested that pomegranates can protect your heart in many ways, including lowering blood pressure and reducing blood sugar levels. Eating 2 to 3 oz of walnuts a day as part of a healthful diet could be a good way to improve gut health and reduce the risk of heart disease.
